Better Medicare Alliance Statement on Final Medicare Advantage Payment Rates

Final 2016 Medicare Advantage rates will help provide needed stability for the program after years of cuts, although these rates will not keep pace with the rising cost of medical care.

Statement from Krista Drobac, Interim Executive Director, Better Medicare Alliance

“Final 2016 Medicare Advantage rates will help provide needed stability for the program after years of cuts, although these rates will not keep pace with the rising cost of medical care.

“As we move forward, continued stability and predictability of payment rates will be critical for the 17 million Medicare Advantage beneficiaries and the doctors, hospitals and other providers who serve them.

“Medicare Advantage continues to innovate to ensure seniors have access to affordable, high-quality care. Our growing coalition thanks the bipartisan, bicameral majority in Congress that spoke out in support of protecting the program.”
