WASHINGTON – Better Medicare Alliance, the nation’s leading research and advocacy organization supporting Medicare Advantage, today announced the hiring of Rebecca Buck as Senior Vice President, Communications. Buck joins BMA from the Washington office of public affairs firm Penta Group, formerly Hamilton Place Strategies.
“Rebecca is an extraordinary communicator and strategist who understands how Washington and the media work,” said BMA President and CEO Mary Beth Donahue. “A record 33 million seniors and people with disabilities now trust Medicare Advantage for their health care because the program keeps seniors healthier and saves them money. I can’t think of anyone better than Rebecca to lead the national effort in communicating the value of Medicare Advantage, and I am thrilled to welcome her to BMA’s senior leadership team.”
In her role, Buck will develop and lead BMA’s communications and grassroots strategies, while marshaling the organization’s unique network of more than 200 ally groups. She will report to Donahue, the President and CEO.
Before joining Penta, Buck spent a decade covering Congress and national political campaigns as a Washington-based reporter, including on-air roles at CNN spanning three pivotal election cycles. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
