Medicare Advantage continues to grow as the affordable, high-quality health care choice for the majority of America’s Medicare-eligible seniors, according to the 2025 State of Medicare Advantage report.
The report provides a comprehensive look at enrollment, affordability, benefits, and outcomes—showing broad access, high satisfaction, and meaningful savings that help seniors manage their care and stay healthier. Nearly 56% of Medicare beneficiaries—35.1 million people—now choose Medicare Advantage for its coordinated, holistic approach to care.
Key Findings from the 2025 Report:
- Enrollment & Access: 35.1 million beneficiaries—nearly 56% of all Medicare-eligible individuals—are enrolled in Medicare Advantage. Access remains nearly universal, with 99.6% of beneficiaries able to choose from multiple plans.
- Affordability: Seniors in Medicare Advantage spend an average of $3,486 less annually on premiums and out-of-pocket costs compared to Fee-for-Service Medicare.
- Quality & Outcomes: Beneficiaries with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension experience lower hospital and emergency department use, fewer preventable hospitalizations, and higher rates of preventive care.
- Satisfaction: 95% of Medicare Advantage beneficiaries report being satisfied with their quality of care.
- Supplemental Benefits: 99% of beneficiaries have access to comprehensive plans offering dental, vision, hearing, and wellness benefits not available in traditional Medicare.
