Letter to CMS on 2021 Medicare Advantage Advance Rate Notice & Payment for Beneficiaries with ESRD

As CMS prepares for the release the Calendar Year (CY) 2021 Medicare Advantage Advance Notice and Call Letter, Better Medicare Alliance wrote to underscore its support for Medicare Advantage and urge CMS to consider policies that maintain stability and support a strong Medicare Advantage option for beneficiaries. Better Medicare Alliance explains that “We are concerned that the ESRD benchmarks used to determine payments to Medicare Advantage plans for ESRD beneficiaries are significantly lower than the actual costs of care for this population, resulting in ongoing underpayments to Medicare Advantage plans.”
